Testimonials
Community Groups On behalf of South Mountain Chinese Older People’s Club I wish to thank Rookie Sports for arranging indoor golf at Murray House and a day out to the Gubeon Golf Centre. Our elderly members were able to learn and enjoy at the same time. We sincerely hope and wish that your team will return in the near future. Kwok Jarm Wong South Mountain Chinese Older People?s Club I really like it. Before this I used to have a problem with my hands and it would be hard to use chopsticks, but now they are much better. Mei Yuk Guan - aged 93 South Mountain Chinese Older People?s Club Disability Sport Rookie Sports has created positive opportunities for disabled people to develop their potential in an enjoyable way. It has been very successful in breaking down inhibitions and barriers as well as developing self esteem. Joyce Jones North East English Federation of Disability Sport School Festival Rookie Sports have delivered Tri Golf to schools in the Newcastle School Sport Partnership through our out of hours programme over the last three years. They provide fun activities which encourage the pupils in our schools to participate in sport. Rookie Sports also performed an excellent job of organising and delivering the Grass Roots Festival in conjunction with NSSP. This is a high profile event which was supported this year by professional golfer Kenneth Ferrie. Joyce Matthews Partnership Development Manager Newcastle School Sport Partnership "Everything was absolutely excellent! The instructors were great, the delivery was super. Teacher St Cuthbert's school, Amble Specialists Many sporting activities rely on communicating with others and being cooperative - children with autism or conduct disorders are unable to do this, so do not have the same sporting opportunities as other children. Golf is a sport that allows a child to take part without personal contact with another and to play at their own level. The colourful equipment and the well planned format of Rookie Sports golf activities has enabled all our children to be involved - even those with severe special needs. It has led to enormous benefits because the children's concentration has improved and their self esteem has increased because they have achieved success. This in turn has led to improved behaviour in school, improved achievement in lessons and better integration with their peers. We have recently had case conferences for some of our children and staff have commented on the remarkable improvement in the children who have taken part in the Rookie Sports club.
